“Roteiros Mais Centro” were designed under the guidance and organisation of the CCDRC - the Regional Coordination and Development Commission of the Portugal Midlands. This set of travel guides invite citizens for a series of two day tourist and cultural visits to the various sub-regions of Central Portugal: Baixo Mondego, Baixo Vouga, Beira Interior Norte, Beira Interior Sul, Cova da Beira, Dão- Lafões, Middle Tagus, West, Pinhal Interior Norte, Pinhal Interior Sul, Pinhal Litoral and Serra da Estrela. They include projects financially supported by the Mais Centro Program, including villages, architectural heritage, beaches, pools, museums, gardens, markets, libraries, among other facilities. Each of the guides - which had a printed version as well as a micro-site - suggested a program for each sub-region.
CCDRC is a public institution whose mission is to implement environmental, spatial planning and regional development policies and to promote the coordinated action of regional decentralised services, providing technical support to municipalities and their associations in the Portuguese Midlands region.
